Our Mission
This program invites young musicians aged 15-20 to explore opera through workshops and live performances. It offers immersive experiences in vocal training, music history, staging, and culminates in a live production. Participants enhance their vocal skills, learn music history and opera folklore, and develop stage presence. The mission is to cultivate future opera performers by providing exceptional training and opportunities that nurture creativity and talent for success in music.
Meet our Faculty
Dr. Lori C. Hicks,
Dr. Lori C. Hicks, owner of LCHSTUDIOS, LLC, a vocal training company based in the Triangle, offers lessons and resources dedicated to developing healthy voices in all musical styles. Dr. Lori has established a diverse career spanning various roles such as a classical singer, composer, vocal coach, professor, clinician, public speaker, director, arts administrator, and entrepreneur. With more than 17 years of experience in Higher Education, Dr. Lori has served as the Director of Opera at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chair of Performing Arts at Kentucky State University, and Associate Professor of Voice and Opera at Claflin University. She and is currently the Music Director at Triangle Grace Church. Dr. Hicks holds a BME from Kentucky State University, a MM from Bowling Green State University, and a DMA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
