Audition Information

Saturday, May 31 | 1-4 pm | LIVE AUDITIONS

  • Vocalists

    Bring your unique voice, even if it’s your first opera, and let it SHINE! We are casting ALL ROLES, principal, supporting and chorus for this production. All voice types will be considered. For a detailed list of characters CLICK HERE. VIDEO SUBMISSIONS are permitted in lieu of a live audition.

    Audition Repertoire : One aria, or art song in any language (selections by Mozart or from "The Magic Flute" preferred)

    Memorization not required, however character expression is very important.

  • Instrumentalists

    All instrumentalists interested in participating in The Magic Flute workshop must prepare the following for their audition:

    Scales: One major scale of your choice (two octaves if possible). One minor scale of your choice (natural, harmonic, or melodic; two octaves if possible).

    Solo Piece: A prepared solo piece that showcases your technical ability and musical expression. The piece should be no more than 5 minutes in length. Excerpts from classical, baroque, or romantic repertoire are recommended, but contemporary pieces are also welcome. Also, please let us know if you can double on any other instrument! VIDEO SUBMISSION are permitted in lieu of a live audition.
